We believe that the main element of the epidemiological surveillance of an absolute majority of infections should be mandatory laboratory tests having sufficient personnel and logistic support. Professional training, establishment of a domestic instrument- making & reagent base, laboratory analytics are the main directions of modern laboratory medicine development. Today only specialists with higher medical education are positioned as doctors of clinical laboratory diagnostics. Not only correct diagnosis, but also the formation of the current and future technological and reagent clinical diagnostic laboratories’ provision depend from their knowledge and world outlook. However, the complexity and variety of methods and techniques that require special knowledge in various fields of science and technology, dictates the involvement of non- medical experts to clinical and laboratory practices.
